What happens when you commit to buy something on ebay but dont go through with paying?

I mean how else could you see or even get the total of several items? or ask for shipping consolidation?
you basically can’t do anything, not even see the total cost, before you commit to buy something?
there’s got to be some limited time after to allow you to withdraw your buy?
so, what’s up with this? and what are the consequences if you’ve committed but never entered your credit number to ebay?
Ebay has its own Security force for people like you. Expect a knock on the door any day now.
You can always contact the seller prior to bidding to ask questions about shipping or any other questions.

Not going thru with a sale can result in negative feedback or eventually being banned from eBay.
It should tell you an EXACT price that you are going to pay before you go through with it.
If you don’t pay the person probably will not ship you the items. If they are dumb enough to they could sue you for not paying what you owe.
What are you talking about? eBay is an auction site…. the “total cost” isn’t determined until the auction is over and they can see who the highest bidder was. And each item is sold by a private individual…. they just pay eBay a fee to post their stuff on the website. There’s no way for them to consolidate their stuff with the other sellers, even with the “Buy it Now” option.
As for your question: making a bid is considered a legally binding contract, and the seller has grounds to pursue actions if you don’t pay, including reporting you to eBay or even in extreme cases outright suing you. However, most sellers are not that mean: if you email them and explain the situation they will usually agree to withdraw your bid. Likewise, if you have any questions about shipping costs or anything like that you can always email them BEFORE you place a bid.
You’re supposed to email the sellers these type of questions before you start bidding or buying stuff on eBay. When you commit yourself to buy something on eBay you’ve entered a legally binding contract. After certain time limits it’s up to the seller to cancel the contract, not you. See http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/bid-retract.html
Not sure exactly what you are asking.
Shipping consolidation is possible if you are ordering some items from one seller. You would have to contact the seller to verify.
As far as a total cost, that is up to you, you are bidding, it’s an auction.
There is no withdrawing. Let someone outbid you. Don’t bid on things you don’t want.
The consequences to bidding and winning but not buying is possible suspension of your ebay account. And no, you can’t just make another one. It will remember your name/address/phone number.
Indecisive people should not be playing around on Ebay. Go shop at Walmart.
will get negative feedback & thrown off ebay possibly
um.. ebay shows the shipping costs right on the search.
but if you win an item and do not pay then you will just have a negative feedback
